It is no surprise that organizations across all industries are recommitting or increasing their commitment to DEI. According to an article in Venture Beat, 79% of companies are planning to allocate more budget and resources to DEI in 2022.

As companies navigate a third year of shifts and adaptive work environments, leaders continue to struggle to figure out the best ways to foster communication and collaboration among team members.

Organizational culture helps define expectations and guides day-to-day operations so all employees understand what drives the company. Clearly defined values and beliefs can reduce turnover because it allows candidates to know up front if the company is a good fit and when all employees are held to the same standard of expectation, employees can work feeling empowered and respected.

Managers complete Evaluations and Sparks to help team members track progress and promote development, but it can also be used to recognize that their efforts are important. As a manager, how do you show team members they matter? Do you reinforce the WHY to inspire them? What does this look like in your day-to-day activities as a manager?

How do employers motivate employees to keep them engaged and increase performance? Understanding what motivates employees is the first step. It will be different for everyone and can change depending on the situation or period in time.

Studies have found that those companies scoring in the top 20% of engagement experience 59% fewer turnovers; and that lack of recognition and engagement has contributed to 44% of employees changing jobs.
