Last week, our Customer Success team led January's Lunch and Learn, Manager as Mentor.  As we head into 2023, there is going to be a renewed focus on retention as organizations balance a hiring freeze and limited workforce in a recession.  For managers, this means that it's time to get creative around how they best engage with their teams.

Types of Mentors

Mentorship can exist in a lot of different types of relationships - it doesn't have to just be one person is an expert and the other person is seeking out guidance.  If any party is gaining knowledge, then that relationship can be considered a mentorship.  This is important to highlight as managers consider how they want to support and guide their teams in 2023.

Similarly to the different types of mentors, mentorship itself can exist in different ways.  From formal 1:1 relationships solely focused on guidance and development, to peer groups that look to share their perspectives and best practices, mentorship can be a fluid and informal practice that takes place at any time or place.

Truvelop's User Community Lunch and Learns have been a core offering from our team for more than two years. During this time, we've developed incredible relationships with all of our attendees and have grown together throughout this journey of shared learning.  One may even say that it's been a fun facilitation of peer mentorship.
