The Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) is a non-profit and non-partisan organization dedicated to articulating the needs of local governments to the Maryland General Assembly. Each August, nearly 3000 people gather in Ocean City to attend MACo’s annual summer conference. This year, Truvelop had the opportunity to attend as a vendor and build new relationships with the attendees. At our booth, we had various Truvelop giveaways, including postcards, pens, koozies, and a few Maryland giftbags.
Tech Expo
On our first day at the MACo Conference, we participated as vendors at the Tech Expo. As a performance development software that solves for retention in frontline workforces, we were a unique booth in a sea of security, virtual reality, and biotechnology. In each of our conversations, we highlighted how we use a technology platform to drive meaningful, in-person conversations to foster stronger relationships between managers and employees.
Meryl Goeke, Customer Success & Relationship Manager with Truvelop shares:
“Our team had a great time attending the MACo Conference. I enjoyed our conversations with fellow tech exhibitors, government officials, and conference attendees who were interested in Truvelop. Everyone we spoke to knows retention is a hot topic for every industry across the US right now. The question continued to come up of ‘how do we solve for it?’ That’s where we absolutely shine as an app, team, and partner for success. I look forward to continuing conversations and scheduling live demos to tell them more!”
Congratulations to Sagar Sawant, CEO of Cynquent, Inc., winner of our first gift basket!
Governor Hogan Welcomes MACo at Seacrets
After the Tech Expo, our team got together at Seacrets to celebrate the official start of the conference with Governor Larry Hogan. Governor Hogan gave a quick welcome speech and even got to hear about Truvelop directly from our CEO, Lisa First-Willis.
Lisa also had the opportunity to connect with Maryland’s First Lady, Yumi Hogan. As a women-led organization, Truvelop celebrates the many achievements led by Mrs. Hogan.
MACo Conference
For the remainder of the conference, the Truvelop team introduced our product to hundreds of attendees. Thank you to everyone who stopped at booth 302! We couldn’t have had more fun meeting everyone during the conference, at the Taste of Maryland event, at the Maryland Tech Council happy hour, and at the Clam Feast.
We even got to meet Wes Moore when he stopped by the Truvelop booth!
Barrett Hennessey, Senior Account Executive with Truvelop shares:
“Such a great time at MACo Summer Conference in Ocean City, MD last week. The conversations and comradery between everyone was certainly second to none. You know you are in the right place at the right time when you see everyone who attended MACoCon from Governor Larry Hogan, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, Secretary Robert Green, the Deputy Director of Community Operations with Juvenile Servies Betsy Fox Tolentino, and so many others all on the same page to make our communities better - starting with retaining employees, building a more engaged workforce, and helping to turn managers into leaders.”
Congratulations to Beverly Churchill, Director of HR at Queen Anne’s County Government and to S. Martin Hale, HR Director for Kent County Government for winning our gift baskets!
Overall, MACo was an absolute success for the Truvelop team! We had a great time coming together in Ocean City to talk about the importance of investing in your people.
