At Truvelop, we’re here to help companies improve Manager and Team Member relationships by increasing touch points, promoting real-time feedback, and focusing on development and upskilling opportunities. One of the many benefits of Truvelop is the messaging our Customer Success team sends out on the 1st and 15th of every month. Meryl Goeke and Juliana Withers share best practices with end users on various topics and this month, we’re putting the focus on Boosting Team Member Engagement and Wellbeing.
“Employees who experience burnout are 63% more likely to take a sick day and 13% less confident in their performance.” (XPertHR)
We are finding that many Managers and Team Members continue to carry extra emotional weight, are experiencing burnout, and struggle with maintaining work-life balance. Improving well-being may be exactly what we all need to carry us through to the end of the year. In order to do this, it is important that we increase touchpoints with Team Members so that we know exactly how to best support each individual.
Engagement and wellbeing go hand in hand in today's work environment. Understanding what makes Team Members get excited helps us get the most out of our talent, while also increasing a sense of wellbeing and purpose.
"More than 9 in 10 workers say they feel more motivated at their job if their leaders support well-being efforts." (APA)
To achieve increased engagement and wellbeing, we recommend three steps:
- Prioritize Team Member Well-Being. Job stress is connected to burnout, turnover and disengagement. It is important to have a quick connect conversation with your Team Members to find out how they’re doing and identify how you can support them going forward.
- Increase Touchpoints Using Truvelop. Our users complete Evaluations on a regular basis to identify trends and step in where necessary before it’s too late. Additionally, our users can increase real-time feedback to Team Members through Spark to let the Team Member know you are listening and available.
- Celebrate Top Performers – especially while organizations are facing retention issues. Using Truvelop’s Proactive Manager Cue Cards, our users are equipped to have meaningful conversations with their top performers, helping everyone to feel valued and appreciated. This also takes the pressure off of the Manager to lead the conversation, and instead they can focus on their Team Member’s current needs and have a collaborative and productive two-way conversation.
With many organizations facing increased pressure during this time of transition, it is more important than ever to check-in with our Team Members and prioritize their engagement and wellbeing. Increasing these meaningful touchpoints can prevent any unwanted turnover in our top talent and increase employee retention.
In addition to bi-weekly messaging, Juliana heads up our monthly Lunch and Learns! Check out our last one: Using Truvelop as a Compass for Harkins Coaching Culture. We’re really looking forward to our next one in a couple weeks focusing on Team Member Wellbeing.
